This was my second trip with “Wild Bill”. Trophy fish are a norm here. I was fortunate enough to fish with Bill the last day
and boy am I glad I did. I caught the biggest bass of my life, now affectionately named “Holly Hawg”. A replica of her is
hanging on my wall. She weighed in at 12 lbs 1 ounce and secured a second place finish in the tournament – I got beat by a ½ ounce!
I caught between 20 and 30 fish a day with an average weight of 8 lbs. I have fished all my life and this trip was actually
better than the first trip to Lake Huites in May of 2001, simply because of the “big” fish that were caught.
I was tired and sore after each day from pulling in all those big fish, but it was well worth every ounce of energy and
strength it took to do it!
